Kona Seafood Market - Kailua-Kona

The freshest fish on the island is sold by the very fishermen who caught it. They provide excellent service and helpful tips, often cutting the fish fresh right in front of us as we wait. Their cooking recommendations are also top-notch. I can't imagine why anyone would choose to buy fish anywhere else on the island.

The employee at the immaculate fish counter was incredibly friendly and welcoming. He engaged us in delightful conversation while preparing fresh shoyu poke, which we purchased and enjoyed just minutes later. It was undoubtedly the freshest and most flavorful poke I've ever tasted. I felt almost foolish for having spent more on much lower quality options in the lower 48.

The marlin ceviche and ahi poke were incredible, freshly caught last night and available at the tent at the corner of Kopiko and Pulani, right by the Toasted Roasted Cafe. It's the best we've ever had! If you're in town supporting IM Kona, be sure to visit Sawyer and support the local fishermen.
