Jimmy's Place - Kaleen

We were in Canberra last Friday night and I'd been thinking about noodles all day. The First place we went to was full with a que.We decided to look elsewhere.A friend had recommended Jimmys place and they had a couple of empty tables. We ordered, the food came out quickly and was good. Not great but good. Service was good but I wouldn't ever say it was attentive. I won't rush back, I prefer another restaurant on the same street so I'll go there. That's not saying that Jimmys place was bad just not the restaurant for me.

Quick eat but not comparable to other asian restaurants in Dickson market.I have tried two dishes but the flavours were not what I expected. Overall quick and cheap eat.

Not quite sure what those who rate this place are on about. Food is at the lower end of suburban Chinese....lousy mixed entree could easily be surpassed by most shopping mall food halls, chicken dish was barely edible having used some fatty old boiler's past prime thighs...fillet steak was passable. This is pretty cheap but pretty nasty too. Just scraped in for a two rated as fried ice-cream was supposedly OK for those that indulged, I'd long lost all interest by then. Service at food court level too. This is NOT HK fare as some would suggest in their reviews.....unless they'd compared to the ferry terminal offerings. Rubbish!

The food is **** here. Be careful with what you order. We ordered Lemon chicken. Linda Lau, the lady who served us and claimed to be the manager brought the dish within less than 30 seconds after order is placed. The food looked as leftover from someone's plate. Half of it was overcooked and other half was not chewable at all. We have to leave as its really bad taste wise and made me feel sick after i had few bites. What a waste of money, sigh. Never visiting here again.

Luncheon at Jimmys Place on Mother's Day and was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant was extremely busy and we had not booked. Our drinks and entees were served promptly. Mains the same. The freshest Chinese food I have ever had. Wait staff incredibly switched on without being pushy. I will return when we have more time to savour the dining experience. Thank you
