Bidra med feedbackWe tried this place on a whim after passing by many years ago and remembering that it looked quite busy. It still is. We found the food here very fresh and well balanced in flavours. Easy for Thai food to be overly sweet but this was not. Portions were good size, prices moderate, depending on what you order. Place gets busy quickly so better to book a table. Restaurant was clean and comfortable and food came out surprisingly quickly. One of the better Thai places in Canberra. Oh and don't forget desert. They're really good.
This is one of our regulars and it never disappoints. Apart from the usual traditional Thai dishes they have an extensive blackboard so there is always plenty of variety. We particularly love their entres such as Phoo Nim, a tasty soft shell crab dish and Roti Nam Sod (minced chicken wrapped in a roti with lovely tangy spices). Some dishes are spicy so ask if you're sensitive. Otherwise enjoy the incredible flavours!
Went here once for lunch special with my husband. We ordered Sea food phadThai and masaman curry.Masaman curry is okay, very sweet as always like any other Thai restaurant. My seafood phadThai was juicy, there are so much gravy. And the calamari wasn't fresh, smell like rotten, I left 2 pcs of calamari on the plate.I can't recommend and never want to come here again. As I live in Sydney, I notice this restaurant was more expensive than-Thai restaurant in Sydney.Sorry to say this, just hopefully the chef will check all the food before serving to the costumer.
Popped into Little Siam last night for a light dinner. Been there many times and always been happy with the service and food, but last night was different. Whilst we were seated quickly and our order was taken promptly, the service thereafter was not so crash hot. There seemed to be a lot of takeaway orders being prepared, so my wife and I had quite a wait for our meals. And we weren't alone. At one stage I looked around and of the probably 9 tables that were occupied only one had any food on it. Like myself, other customers seemed to be wondering when their meals would arrive.Eventually one of our two dishes arrived about 25 minutes after we ordered, the Tohu Saam Ros that my wife had ordered, by mine wasn't brought out with it. Given that we had only ordered two dishes to share, I would have expected my dish to arrive at the same time. But alas, no. I had to wait a further 6 minutes for my Vegetarian Pad Thai. 6 minutes might not seem a long time, but try sitting in a restaurant with one dish waiting for the accompanying dish to arrive before starting eating. Not a great situation.I am happy for the restaurant that they are popular and have so many takeaway orders, but I don't believe cutomers dining in the restaurant should be inconvenienced by delays caused by preparing these takeaway orders. Somehow the staff need to find a balance to ensure meals flow out of the kitchen to diners. We experienced further delays when trying to pay for our meal. Some issue with their eftpos machine that took about 6 staff to resolve and kept us waiting even longer.Yes, the food was great - as usual. But the service needs improvement.
The food and the service at the Little Siam was of a very high standard, along with comfortable surroundings. All our group thoroughly enjoyed the variety dishes, especially the curry's and prawn meals. The service was friendly and although crowded the noise level was not overly high.
