Vegetus från Kamakura Meny

Our last minute decision to try vegetus was rewarded with beautifully designed foods that looks like art and tastes great. fortunately, it's the next season and we didn't need a reservation, but if they plan to make a stop in kamakura, then book it in vegetus.

That was my first time in a restaurant with a set menu to eat – set menus always felt like something that had meat-heavy fine dining restaurants. vegetus gave me a look into how this world of eating could be for a vegan diet. some might say that 4,500 yen (about $40 us) is too expensive. for this type of experience – one in which an experienced cook serves a lot of meals – this price felt good. I would have paid more. (drinks are not included in the cost of set menu we were the only few to dinner. it was a rainy night of weeks. I would have enjoyed having more patrons there to get their promotions on the beautiful food. they can, I think, buy items a la carte, although this is rather expensive and in contrast to the magie of set-metal style. Update: reservations are now necessary. the restaurant website (only Japanese) lists a telephone and email contact, so be prepared (we were not, in October 2019, and were turned away) vegetus served a 6-course dinner set for $45/4500yen, no credit cards accepted. it is inventive and tasteful, with seasonal local vegetables, chalk, tofu, a selection of tees, served in attractive ceramic dishes. the autumn menu, when we visited in 2017, had seasoned and marinated hors d'œuvres (fresh figs, aubergines, braided carrots

Das restaurant ist sehr nah an der bahnhof kamakura, aber in einer ruhigen straße. der ort ist sehr gut dekoriert und intim, wir waren die einzigen zum abendessen und die cheffe gekocht fast vor uns für alle gerichte. alles war sehr lecker und der service war erstaunlich. wir werden bald wieder für mehr geschmack in diesem schönen restaurant. - restaurant very close to the kamakura station but located in a ruhige street. the room is very well decorated, chic, and with a very private atmosphere. We were the only ones in the restaurant and the chef cooked almost in front of us for each dish. everything was very good and the fantastic service. We'll go back to discover new dishes.
