Buca Di Beppo - Kansas City

Always happy with this chain that comes as better than most.

My cousin and I have made a reservation for restaurant week and it was phenomenal! our waitress and barkeeper perrin was incredible! she was very helpful and thorough with the menu and the drinks we ordered, she did it too and they were top-regal and it was very good. the food was fresh, hot and delicious!

This place is a maze of a Resturant, but the food is amazing and plentiful. The waitstaff considerate. The parking is adequate as long as it’s not a Friday or Saturday. You must have reservations on the weekends. And come hungry.

From the start things didn’t seem like they were going to go great. We had a reservation and went to check in but the host was nowhere to be found. We waited almost 10 minutes before we could talk to the host and then another 10 minutes until we were seated. We didn’t see a server for 20 minutes after we were seated. Then when they finally came to the table we were told they had no soda or lemonade for the kids, only water. They said they had been out of soda for a week. What??? We ordered food and drinks. Our server asked us if we wanted the salad to come out first and we said yes. It took another 10 minutes for the water to come. 30 Minutes at a table and still no water. Five minutes later the other drinks come and my drink was not what I ordered. I tell them it is fine and just will drink what they brought out. Eventually our food came out and still no salad and no silverware or napkins. I asked if the salad was coming and the server looked confused. 5 minutes later the salad came out and was not what we ordered. Then a plate full of silverware and a few napkins were brought to the table a few minutes later. The food wasnt great. Ironically the wrong salad was the best part of the meal. Just a bad overall experience with no apologies for all the waiting and mix ups. We went to have a fun experience and left saying we would never go back.

Disappointing limited menu, but we had a Sunday lunch so, maybe. Generally don’t like eating in basement area (no windows), probably won’t go back to this location.
