Bidra med feedbackWe had an excellent lunch during our kayak rental at Kamokila. Even though the truck was out of commission, George was still present and prepared us an amazing lamb burger along with razor ice cream. It was top-notch and a wonderful stop along the Wailua River.
My wife and I visited Kauai to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary and stumbled upon George of Da Jungle during one of our hiking trips. George and his new wife were exceptionally welcoming, friendly, and humorous! We enjoyed a delicious gyro and then took a refreshing dip in the nearby river. It turned out to be one of our favorite memories from the trip!
Food on the island can be pricey, so be prepared for a bit of a shock when you see the prices. However, I assure you that the organic chicken gyro ($14) is the best you’ll ever have—no exaggeration! The sweet potato fries and homemade falafel were also outstanding and received rave reviews from everyone I brought to Kamokila or who tasted Chef George's food. I want to extend my thanks to Chef George for three weeks of consistently delicious and simple culinary delights. It’s free to eat under the main pavilion in Kamokila Hawaiian Village, but there is a $5 entrance fee to access the beautifully maintained grounds of this authentic Hawaiian village. This is also a fantastic spot for kids, with opportunities for kayaking or stand-up paddleboarding along the Wailua River.
Great little place for ingenious food. A big secret, but not long! With short ribs, local fish, lamb, mixed with Hawaiian and Asian ingredients. Inspired.
An unexpected surprise. We pulled up the the food truck expecting sub-par food but were presented with quality burgers and sweet potato fries.
