Field Wine, you can find an incredible selection of gourmet items, including freshly sliced prosciutto di San Daniele, prosciutto di Parma, mozzarella di bufala, burrata, bresaola, cambozola, and even a truffle-infused pâté mousse. These are just a few of my favorite delicacies! After spending 11 years in Italy, returning to my home in Hawaii left me longing for the exquisite foods that had become staples in my daily life. I found myself reminiscing about the cured meats and rich Parmigiano cheese, as well as the creamy burrata mozzarella. However, I never thought I would find those flavors again in Hawaii—until I discovered R. Field Wine. It brought me to tears—joyful tears, I must say! If you're craving Italian specialties, this is the place to go. There are several locations, primarily found in or near Foodland, with my favorites being in Kailua, Ala Moana, and Kapolei. Every cured meat I loved in Italy is now available at R. Field Wine—it's unbelievable! My top choice for prosciutto is San Daniele, which they carry, and I can't get enough of the burrata, even though it’s a bit pricey—it's absolutely worth it. The staff generously offers samples if you're uncertain about what to purchase. I always prefer to see the cut of the prosciutto San Daniele first; I find that the smaller rounds are sweeter. As for Prosciutto di Parma, I recommend seeking out the authentic product rather than the pre-packaged versions. Bresaola is another favorite—it's the leanest cured meat you'll find. In Italy, it's often made from horse meat, but they typically carry the beef version here. Serve it with lemon and olive oil for a light, flavorful experience, or pair it with mozzarella to balance the saltiness. The burrata's creamy center is unmatched; it may not slice cleanly, but it’s heavenly whether paired with pizza, prosciutto, or fresh tomatoes. Their black truffle duck and goose pâtés are extraordinary—even if you think you're not a truffle fan, give them a try! Cambozola is another delight—a creamy version of Gorgonzola that’s less sharp but melts perfectly on warm crusty bread; just be aware it's not for everyone, especially those who don’t like blue cheese. Don’t forget the savoiardi, essential for making tiramisu! R. Field Wine also boasts an impressive selection of wines and liqueurs, as suggested by the name, along with high-quality local products like cocoa for tiramisu, chocolate, coffee, and honey. I hope this review helps you understand what an incredible place R. Field Wine is! You truly cannot go wrong with their selection of salumi—I promise you will love it!
Inside Foodland, we found everything we needed for dinner, as well as a great selection of mixed drinks and wines. It offers a nice variety of interesting ingredients for cocktails, perfect for us tourists.
The service at R Field Wine Company in Foodland-Kapolei is outstanding! While everyone does a great job, Pua, Michelle, and Travis truly stand out by going the extra mile to greet every customer and attentively address their needs, making each one feel valued. Their exceptional dedication contributes significantly to the excellence of both R Field Wine Company and Foodland as a whole. They all deserve to be recognized as employees of the year!
I love the R Field on Beretania, and so much more! The staff is really friendly and one of the ladies even offered me samples of some of their cured meat to help me decide which to take home. It was very knowledgeable about the differences in products. Your selection seems to be the same as the Betetania shop, but it also has several prefabricated salads in its display case. Very glad to have their selection of special items on this side of the island!
This place is so awesome.. I spent 4 days looking for cojita cheese I didn't want to drive in to town to go get it.. but this is located in Kapolei foodland.. specialty cheeses and meats I love it!!!
