Bidra med feedbackGood food. Well priced. Good service. What more could one want? I only just found this gem in a suburban strip mall. It will become a regular haunt now. Highly recommended.
Didn’t feel like cooking and craving Indian over the weekend thought I would try somewhere local, we ordered the butter chicken and rice, garlic nan and eggplant. The eggplant and rice were cooked well and tasted okay but the butter chicken was a real disappointment there was plenty of sauce and a reasonable amount of chicken BUT chicken was so dry I only ate half a piece could not eat anymore and the garlic nan was very chewy. My son 11 year old loves butter chicken but even he was disappointed. Unfortunately looks like will be going a bit further out back to our regular for Indian.
Wanting to support local restaurants during Covid we thought we would try Hilltop Indian. They have an app that makes ordering easy. We ordered pretty standard meals: Butter chicken, and vegetable Korma (Navaratan Korma) with garlic cheese nan and cheese nan. We picked it up. The meals were prepared quickly and we were pleasantly surprised. A bit on the spicy side which we like. Reasonably priced with take away prices. We will order again and continue to supper this local restaurant.
Ordered takeaway for dinner Vegetable Samosa, Lamb Biryani, Garlic Naan. The Samosa was very tasty, great flavour, good amount of spice. Garlic Naan was a good size, fresh tasty. Sadly the lamb Biryani let the rest down. Was very greasy, coated in a film of oil. Nothing like any biryani I have had before, was more like a spiced fried rice. There was only about 5 pieces of lamb in the dish, tender but dry. From the taste it seemed like it had been coloured with curry powder rather than saffron. The spice was very hot, no particular flavour just spice overpowering the dish. The raita provided was nice but did nothing to complement or reduce the heat of the dish. Overall a disappointing dinner.
Ordered our dinner thru Uber Eats and when delivered three of the four curries were mixed thru the bag an absolute sloppy mess. The butter chicken had five pieces of meat and no sauce. Hilltop for the record other restaurants wrap the curries in cling wrap to avoid this happening. When we contacted the restaurant all they had to say was contact our ‘delivery partner’ and said this has never happened before. When your delivery partner uses motorbikes I am surprised maybe no one has complained yet. With so many options for good curries in the area, it is a simple choice go somewhere else. Hilltop you have lost a customer you should have tried harder to keep me but your loss.
