Bidra med feedbackWent there for a Birthday. Everyone's meal arrived at the same time. We had 3 children with us...one a toddler and a teenager and a 5 year old. The restaurant was packed but the waitresses treated everyone with a smile.
Keeping in mind that this is a small town restaurant, we think it's a great spot. We tend to order favourites over and over but have started to diversify and order different meals of late. The pork souvlaki is a very nice meal and the best 'Greek' dish in the immediate area. They also have an extensive Chinese menu (and Chinese cooks, for what it's worth) and we have had the Cantonese chow mein meal three times now and couldn't finish it so we brought it home and will heat it up for dinner. You can ask for chopsticks too which we always do.They have a daily special which includes an entree, soup/salad and a dessert (the standard jello, or rice pudding which we are hooked on).We have never had a breakfast there so can't comment on this but it's hard to screw up bacon, home fries and eggs. The staff is pretty attentive. It is a clean facility. It has a bar with the usual selections. The prices are in line with the fare.As we live about 25 minutes away and have to travel a 400 series highway to get there, we only go there about once a month but it is definitely one of our favourite spots. As very experienced diners, we have a certain standard of expectations and have had no issues with the service or the food. So keep in mind that if you do run into a problem, let your server know in a polite, friendly manner and I'm sure that they will be happy to address it.We've eaten in many upscale places and have to admit that we would rather eat here. There's no pretension at all. Below is a question, "Is this an American restaurant?" I answered no. It's a Canadian restaurant; a subtle difference. There is only 1 very low rise step to the sidewalk from the parking, of which there is lots so it would be my opinion that wheel chair accessibility is possible, but the washrooms are small so there might be an issue there.
Eating out with two small children is a daunting task but I won't hesitate to go back after our experience. This place is always busy and now we know why. Menu is huge but we settled on hamburger and fries, a Chinese dish, deep fried pickles, egg rolls, and chicken tenders and pizza for kids. Food came fast and hot and not a single complaint. It was so good. Atmosphere is what one would expect in a small town family restaurant but service was amazing. Debbie was our server and she was prompt and so friendly. Then as we were leaving our kids were reaching their max but another server, Chrissie, stopped to talk to them near the cash and cheer them up (all between balancing plates and checking tables). Its like no matter how busy this place gets there is time for a smile. We will be back again for sure.
My friends ordered the seafood platter which included scallops but when the meal arrived there were no scallops . On inquiring they were told scallops were not available. They were given two extra shrimps for the four scallops. Hardly an adequate replacement. I had a chinese meal which was fine. The restaurant was in need of a makeover. The tables and chairs were very scruffy. The waitress was good but was unsure of what the daily specials included. We will not be returning.
The coffee was hot and tasty - the bacon, eggs, home fries, and toast where all fine and served quickly.
