Bidra med feedbackI had plans the previous night to visit Key Largo, so I needed a nice quick sit-down restaurant to have lunch. Bayside Grille Restaurant was the first name to pop up on the search engine. My 8yr old cousin and I went here 4/20/11.We were served with a quickness and food was okay, I just didn't like the fact that all the white people were looking at us strangely (especially being that we weren't doing anything out of the ordinary). I guess not much black people goes there. The waitresses were very nice to me and I appreciated them very much, but I didn't like the fact that I was stared at because of my color. I paid my check in advanced before finishing my meal because I didn't want people to think that I couldn't pay for it. If ever I should go to Key Largo again I will definitely not come back here just because of this, maybe the owner should promote his business to more than just one race.
I was staying with my parents who live in Key Largo. They live at a resort and can get any amenities there they need. I asked them for a nice restaurant to go out to. They suggested The Bayside Grille in Key Largo. A short distance from where they stay. I walked in and sat myself at the bar. The menu looked appetizing and I ordered the rack of lamb and asked the female bartender (Martha) for a fresh glass of red wine. I watched her pour two inches of swill from a remaining wine bottle. I again asked politely May I have a full, fresh glass from the bottle you are opening right now . She whirled around with a bitter face and proceeded to tell me that she opened the empty bottle less than an hour ago. She then told me to shove the empty bottle up my . I was completed shocked and asked for the manager from which she exclaimed “I am the manager. I then asked for the owner and she said he was not there. I got up and asked a waitress working on the floor for the owner. He came out from back and I told him what happened. He did not seem very upset and offered me a free glass of wine. He apologized for her and offered me a glass of wine, yeah right!!! But I refused the glass of wine and told him that she needs training social skills. Later upon calling the restaurant, I was told that there are no managers just the owner. I told my parents what happened. They told their friends and I told every store when I went shopping Key Largo what happened. If the employees owner treat speak to you in this manner, then what would they do to your food if you anger them?! I will never step foot in that establishment again or “The Largo Cafe which they own downstairs, neither will my parents and friends. Thanks for ruining my Saturday night. I think you may need to re-evaluate your wait staff. It is people like myself and everyone else that keep you in business. Personally, I don 't care if your restaurant had to file bankruptcy after being treated that way. I would sit back laugh like the dumb bartender did after she told me off, how ignorant!
