1054 Togoshi - Kīhei

We dined at 1054 Togoshi for dinner after hearing numerous positive reviews, and it did not disappoint. The restaurant has a lovely, inviting decor. The sushi is exceptional and incredibly delicious, thanks to the chef's meticulous preparation of each dish. They offer several special sushi fish that are hard to find elsewhere, along with delicious traditional options like Saba (mackerel), Aji (horse mackerel), and Toro (fatty tuna). We also enjoyed the yellowtail carpaccio, which was enhanced by a fantastic marinade. The chef and his wife are the only staff members, and their passion for their work is evident. Since my wife was pregnant during our stay in Maui, she received excellent guidance on what menu items were suitable for her. It would be wonderful if they could expand to a location with a better ocean view or a more accessible setting, but overall, this was the best sushi we found on Maui. We even returned the very next day!

During our vacation in Maui, Hawaii, our friends recommended 1054 TOGOSHI because we were craving some high-quality uni. Wow! This place is an exceptional sushi restaurant! I highly recommend it and will certainly return if we get the chance to visit Hawaii again. The ambiance is fantastic, and there weren't many other diners, which I really appreciated. I loved it! Without a doubt, it's a 5-star experience.

Upon arriving, we were seated at the counter, which was beautifully decorated, very clean, and had a calming beachy ambiance. We ordered several different dishes and enjoyed every single one. Everything was fresh, beautifully presented, and delicious. The service was excellent—courteous and prompt. The restaurant has a warm, inviting, and comfortable atmosphere. This is an outstanding sushi restaurant, not one of those trendy all-you-can-eat places. The chef is exceptionally talented, and his wife, who serves as the server, is incredibly polite and provides excellent support to the chef. Parking was easy, although the spaces are a bit small, and the restrooms are available and handicap accessible. Just a tip: be sure to ask about the market price for certain items before ordering, especially if you're watching your budget, as you might be surprised by the high cost of uni.

We had sushi here for our date night and it was absolutely beautiful! Best on Maui for sure! My husband had the spicy tuna and loved it, so fresh. I had the avocado sushi and it was so yum and fresh. Lovely relaxed atmosphere, beautiful glass of pinot noir and lovely couple that own it/run it. Mahalo, we will be back!
