El Tapatio - Kingsville

The food is sub par. I was really disappointed in the enchilada plate, the Tapatío. The enchilada tortillas were hard and not cooked. The cheese inside a clumpy mess. The service was slow. The waitress never refilled our drinks and they were not busy at all.

We arrived at the peak of business on a Saturday night and the place was jumping. We got a table immediately, though, and our server was practically waiting for us. The food was excellent; Virginia had the Green Chile Enchiladas (outstanding and I had the Stuffed Poblano (also outstanding. The chips were hot and fresh, the tea was tasty and the tortillas were smoking hot and so very soft. We'll be coming back, no doubt!

The food was delicious. I highly recommend the Menudo. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. We visited on a Sunday, an hour before closing time, and the restaurant was packed.

Stopped here while traveling. Definitely worth the detour from the highway. Service was pleasant and friendly and food was hot and fresh. Even though it was the peak of the lunch hour, food arrived very fast. We enjoyed both the beef enchiladas and the green chicken enchiladas. Prices were very reasonable and portions huge. Hope we get to come back one day.

I have lived in Texas my entire life and have eaten my fair share of Mexican food, but this restaurant is truly outstanding. The service is fantastic and I would definitely place it in my top 5.
