Embers - Kitchener

I just paid $15 per person for a breakfast that would have been free at the Comfort Inn. We walked in and were seated by the host and that's where the service ended. We had to get our own coffee and juice. The buffet was no better than the free one offered down the street. I had to toast my own bread. Until the "waitress" brought our bill (the first we'd seen of her), I honestly thought it must have been a complimentary breakfast they just forgot to mention. Nice hotel but that really turned us off.

We went in with a rather large appetite only to have it completely satiated! Planned to have other meals there in the future.

Excellent Chicken and mashed potatoes were to die for. Sandwiches homemade and good frenchfries. The breakfast buffet was great when in a hurry to get to work.

I liked the fact there are 3 different restaurants in this building and something for everyone. This particle steak house is good but make sure they make the steak as requested as they mixed up my steak with my Boss' and his was medium rare and I wanted medium well done, they switched them which was not good. Overall, the food was good but a bit pricey but close to the hotel which made it very convenient.

We were looking for a nice place to eat the other night and decided to visit Embers in the Holiday Inn. The meal was very nice but we waited for over an hour for our food. The restaurant only had a few patrons - 6 tables, but we were left nursing our wine for long periods while others were served in about half the time. Our server was pleasant and our order was straight off the menu - two steaks - but based on the response to our questions it must be a normal thing for them to take their time to prepare some orders
