Bidra med feedbackThe service at this restaurant was exceptional! Our server, Steph, took great care of us. We opted to sit outside in order to fully experience the hustle and bustle of Gay Street in Knoxville. The street was lively with people passing by. I ordered the Crispy Veggie dish, but made the mistake of having Wasabi on the plate, which was too spicy for my liking. I was taken aback by the heat and jumped in my seat. My husband suggested mixing it with soy sauce to tone it down next time. He enjoyed his fish tacos, spicy shrimp soup, and appetizer. Don't forget to check out the pictures of our meal! Also, be sure to order bottled water as the tap water did not taste good.
The service was okay. The Kaki panko was tasty, especially with the perfect dipping sauce. The crab and Asiago dip with naan was also delicious. However, the sushi was not the best. We ordered basic rolls like the Caterpillar and eel maki. The eel sauce was too salty and overpowering. The rice was a mix of normal soft rice with some hard grains, which was disappointing. The eel in the maki had a strong fishy taste and did not seem fresh.
So, Friday night we were meeting up with some old friends of my friendthey decided on Nama a sushi restaurant.
I'm a big fan of NamaWhile I've yet to visit the Bearden location, Gay Stis tried and true in my books.
I have been to Nama more times than I can count in the last 15 yearsI prefer the downtown location but frequent both.
