Steak 'n Shake - Knoxville

Steak 'n Shake has declined so much that today marked my last visit. We used to love their handmade hamburgers, malts, fries, and beans, as well as the excellent service. Now, there’s no dining room service; you have to place your order at the front desk when you arrive, and your food is served in paper containers. They've eliminated malts and only offer shakes now. The chocolate shakes we ordered today didn’t taste like chocolate, and the whipped cream was fake, resembling artificial whipped topping that tasted awful—like tasteless grease. An employee mentioned that the ownership of all Steak 'n Shake locations has changed and the chain is now franchised. The current location will soon switch to a computer screen ordering system, along with numerous other changes. The impact of COVID two years ago has transformed how Steak 'n Shake operates, and it’s just not the same anymore. I’ve been a customer at various Steak 'n Shake locations since 1950, but I won’t be returning. Farewell, Steak 'n Shake; it was enjoyable until two years ago, but you’ve ruined your reputation for good.

I had an amazing experience at the drive-thru today! My food was prepared quickly and tasted absolutely delicious. I tried the #11, and it was simply fantastic. I can't recommend it enough!

If you enjoy hot hamburgers and crispy fries, this is the perfect spot for you. It's a fantastic place for families. The shakes are genuinely delicious. The restaurant is very clean, which is essential. It’s an excellent place to stop by after shopping or before heading to a movie. Food: 5/5

FURIOUS! went through the drive thru and ordered 2 #10s. Add bacon to both and onions on one. And drinks Was informed there’d be an up charge for extra ingredients and I said fine go for it.. why do I get my order I’m charged 23$ And only one burger has ONLY bacon and the other is plain? I PULL BACK AROUND and the manager proceeds to argue when I say I don’t want them to add it now I want it remade. Of course they didn’t give a receipt in the bag. Just wow. Save yourself a headache

No servers, no half and half milkshakes. No more old days pictures on the wall. Tables were dirty and the food quality has declined, wont be back.
