Mado - Koebenhavn

In Turkey Mado is a fine chain. In Copenhagen it is close to horrible. Bad food (any Turk from Turkey certainly would send the food back to the kitchen) and inattentive staff who don’t seem to know or care what they are serving.

This places opened here several years ago and from the first time I was very disappointed with the food and how different the quality was from what we eat in the original Turkish chain. I visited this place three more times hoping it got better over the years. Firstly service has always been very bad. But, the food?! Omg it is over heated böreks, gözlemes all taste nothing like they are supposed to. The edges are burned, gözlemes are like tortillas. This is a hopeless place. I live nearby and now I have given up and telling my network of friends not to go here. As a Turkish person this is a disgrace to our cuisine. Good reviews are only about the sweet baklava stuff which is mostly made somewhere else. The rest of the food is horrible. Staff is never knowledgeable about what they serve. We always wonder what the owners think. How does this place survive? Perhaps it is located near the hotels and unsuspecting tourists get ripped and don’t even care to write a review. On top they have very cold and moody staff as well. Gosh how is this place still here?!!

This restaurant has lots of seating, serves a large choice of dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. During our short stay in Copenhagen, we tried the lentil soup here; their big country breakfast and the beef Kofte. The lentil soup has a lovely flavor and is served with bread; we had it as a very light meal as we had eaten a big lunch at Grams Laekkerier (highly recommended) that day. The next day, two of us shared the Mado Country breakfast and the quantity was sufficient for both of us for lunch; it consisted of small quantities of about twenty different items both sweet and savory. It cost us 159 Danish Kroners not bad at all. For dinner, we shared two lentil soups and the beef kofte (meatballs). Both excellent.

What a great restaurant had grilled salmon with seasonal vegetables and beef chips and had curry chicken fillets with a mild curry sauce seasonal vegetables had a glass of wine and dessert was diabetic ice cream the meals was really delicious and good serves staff very friendly been there for lunch to day also had prawn salad was very delicious dressing was balsamic ginger and lemon it complimented the meal a great place to go either for breakfast brunch lunch an dinner even to drop in for dessert would recommend this 100

We have eaten several times at Mado in Dubai Mall which has always delivered great food, Mado in Copenhagen also did not disappoint. Both food and service at this restaurant were excellent.
