Kafenio Filio - Κρήτης

Probably the best Greek food iv'e ever had. Very nice Service, Not to mention that the family founded the Restaurant almost a century ago. Im going to visit this place as soon as possible.

Very beautiful tavern with nice staff in a traditional atmosphere. The food was both fresh and delicious, absolutely perfect and by far the best greek food I've had so far. The owner was very welcoming and explained the dishes very well (in English). The menu didn't vary a lot, it's been classical greek dishes, but therefore served perfectly. Absolute recommendation, even if you're not right around the corner.

This is the best restaurant we ate in. Such friendly people with excellent local food. T hey even made a birthday cake for one of our party accompanied by music and singing. Recipes were even shared. Fantastic.

We ate at Kafenio Filio today, our second visit while here on Crete. The food was delicious again, made with first class local ingredients that tasted as good as it looked. The restaurant is modern and inviting and we were looked after by the chef and her lovely husband. We can't recommend it highly enough.... and it's in a fabulous location close to the ancient site with great walks.
