La Guinguette Gaudoise - La Gaude

Superb. Lively, homey, spirited atmosphere. Food of the region well prepared and copious portions. Fine service. Fine rapport prix/qualite. A delight.

This restaurant is a typic one in La Gaude, provence specialities that you would not find elsewhere. At least try once!

We turned up as a party of 8 at the last minute and found the restaurant hospitable, and accommodating. Food was good value reasonable choice across the menu but not gourmet, local vins good value. Pleasant relaxed atmosphere with mixture of tourists and locals.

Food was okay - However if you cannot speak French do not expect good service as the waitstaff were incredibly rude.

My family and I went to this restaurant because of the reputation. We heard it was good. (I think it USED to be good years ago but it has obviously gone down hill!) We called before and asked the price for Sunday lunch, all you can eat for 33 euro per person. Good south of France food is what we wanted and that is what we thought they have so we went. The food was good, not great but the way we were treated at the door by the young man was horrible and made me want to leave but I didn't say anything to the others in our party. Not necessary to go into details about this but the fellow was quite nasty with us. We couldn't get over the fact that parts of our lunch were obviously warmed up frozen food (the potatoes) and that for four people they put 3 farcis on the plate. Overall we had a good time and an average lunch but we won't go back.
