Deluxe Tastee Cream - La Porte

Yesterday, we drove 20 minutes from our home to get some ice cream around 7:30 PM. Both the sign and Google indicated they were open until 9 PM. However, when we arrived, we found a sign at the drive-thru saying they were closed, and everything was shut up. We ended up at Culver's instead, but it wasn't what we really wanted.

I ordered a banana split, but it arrived without any bananas! The staff seemed preoccupied and not particularly welcoming. Additionally, the wait time was quite lengthy. However, the ice cream in the "banana split" was well-made and delicious!

This restaurant is definitely a step up from chain establishments! Everyone had a spot like this while growing up, where real milk was used and the owners truly cared about quality. The best endorsement is the long line in front of this place during the summer!

This place is my childhood. I absolutely love it and it's just as delicious as always. Staff was great, icecream was tasty and I'm so glad this remains a staple in LaPorte.

Been going there my whole life it’s amazing! Kinda pricy but it’s worth it!
