Lake House Bistro - Lake George

We visited for the fixed price of $35 during Lake George Restaurant Week on September 14th, which included a three-course meal. The salads were enjoyable and generous in portion. The mussel appetizer was outstanding. The Fish and Chips entrée was very good, while the Shrimp Scampi was quite mild and could have benefited from more sauce and garlic. The pasta it came with was overcooked, but the shrimp itself was excellent. My strip steak was just okay; it appeared rather pale, as if it had been steamed rather than grilled. The baked potato could have been cooked a bit longer. However, we all relished the desserts, which were either Lemon Meringue Pie or Apple Pie.

The waitress was very friendly and attentive. We didn't realize it was a BYOB restaurant; otherwise, we would have brought our own drinks. Regardless, it was a lovely spot for dinner. We could have easily walked next door to grab a bottle of liquor, but opted not to. The food presentation was average, but it was quite delicious. We would definitely return.

The food, service, and prices are fantastic. You can't go wrong choosing this place!

We were very disappointed with this restaurant. Two of us ordered shrimp fajitas a special that night) that were unrecognizable. We had to take them apart to see that there were even shrimp in the taco shells. The shrimp was covered in something that tasted like meat sauce and the onions and peppers had been stewed in a tomato sauce. The sour cream and cheese listed on the menu did not arrive. The waitress did bring sour cream when asked, but the meal was terrible. I would avoid this restaurant.

Food was excellent! Would go back. Very affordable and family friendly.
