The Docksider - Lake George

In 2024,this place still has the ambiance. The food, however, has taken a step backwards. The staff is not as friendly these days either. Waitress threw a fit because we wanted to open the umbrellas on the table...it was a sunny day with ZERO wind. We had a dog with us that needed shade as did we. She insisted she had to go make sure that her boss was ok with letting us open the umbrellas. Then when she came back she had to reply with a smart remark like well the sun isnt as harmful as an umbrella flying into your head and knocking you unconscious a very mouthy Kristen. Also heard one of the waiters tell another staff member they were glad summer was coming to an end,with a sarcastic look on its alphabetically protected face as if we were bothering it during its work hours to do their job (be nice and accommodating,keep your sass in your ___ til you clock out. The deal that brought us in 14 years ago is now more than double the price. Used to be 2 pitchers of soda,now it 's 1. The pizza pies looked like the ones you can get at the super market in the frozen food section. Then they had the nerve to add an additional $4.50 to the bill because we wanted one of the pies FROM THE SAME 2 PIZZA PIES FOR $45 DEAL, TO BE A PEPPERONI PIE! They never even made us aware of that scam. Their garlic parm wings are STILL the best I have tried though. This place has ALWAYS been a must every year when we are in lake George. I can honestly say after today it is definitely on the forgettable list. So long dock sider. You were great for 14 years for us but you just don 't give that same great feeling anymore. I would say stay away from this place if you 're looking for actual good food and better attitudes from people whom are expecting to make a living off your tips. You shouldn 't have to be spoken to like you 're some idiot and treated like you 're junk just because summer is almost over and the service industry workers feel they 've made their summer money and want to quit for the next 3 seasons.

I’ve reviewed this before on another account. So this is a bit of an update. This place is growing on me, for several reasons: Beautiful view Light and friendly staff Good portions with consistently good food It’s like many boxes ticked for what you would want, consistently, over time-a reliable eating experience, a winning formula. And it adds that I recognize people year after year

They have a nice view if eating outside. Unfortunately you’re eating overpriced mediocre food at best. Place seems to be run by a woman that is more concerned about the flowers in the parking lot overhanging the spaces and being touched by cars than actually running a decent restaurant. She rudely interrupted a meal with my family to mention the concern for flowers that were just barely touching the back of our car. Expecting some sort of sympathy for the over growing shrubs she waited by our car until we left.

Food was adequate, service was good especially since they were rocking, atmosphere is great summertime vibes being nearby the scenic lake.

The salad I ordered was not edible. The server offered to replace it, and I had an okay quesidilla. We won't be going back.
