Darrel's Steak And Seafood - Lake Orion

We were seated and assisted by Jacob, who took our drink orders, and Holly was our server. Holly was outstanding! She even brought us HOT bread to our table. We were supposed to get it when we first ordered our drinks, but it wasn't available, so she made sure we received some. Given that it was close to closing time, her thoughtfulness was greatly appreciated, and honestly, she didn’t have to do it. I felt a bit guilty about the timing, but everyone there assured us it was perfectly fine. And the FOOD! My goodness! I have never been to a place where everything was cooked to perfection and utterly delicious. Hats off to the chef at Darrel’s, because everything was fantastic. Even my appetizer of flash-fried calamari was remarkable. At most places, it tends to be overcooked and chewy, but here it was delicate and tender—simply amazing. My partner had the lobster and filet, both of which were perfectly cooked, and she enjoyed them greatly. What a wonderful experience for our first visit to Darrel’s! Excellent all around. Parking: There’s a huge parking lot!

The food was excellent! The waiter appeared to be new, so the service was a bit slow. The interior has a diner-like feel, so some updates to the ambiance would definitely be beneficial.

My wife dined at this restaurant with some of her girlfriends and ordered the ribeye with peppercorn sauce. She loved the sauce so much that she brought some home for me to try, but she was quite disappointed with the steak itself. After taking a single bite, I understood her frustration; the steak was not cooked to her preference and was lacking in seasoning. Additionally, it was riddled with gristle. Ribeyes are meant to be fatty, but they shouldn't be so tough that your jaw hurts after just one bite. This restaurant really needs to reassess both their meat supplier and their cooking methods.

Saturday night was our second time dining here. Both times were great! Servers are awesome, food is fantastic!! Highly recommend Darrel’s for a relaxing dining experience!

I have visited multiple times in the last few months and the food gets better each time! The double bone pork chop is about as good as it gets. The entire Darrel's team treats you like family. It is by far my favorite restaurant.
