La Cabana Mexican Cafe - Lakehills

We went for breakfast and left without food because service was soooo slow! 45 minutes and a rude waitress- just for 3 bean and cheese tacos, chiliquiles and huevos rancheros. Prices were too high as well. Will not be going back!! We have lived here in Lake Hills for 10 years and have watched the prices rise and the service go downhill. Its too bad because we used to eat here frequently and now we would not recommend this to anyone.

This restaurant has been a staple for quite a while. Initially, as they were finding their footing, the food ranged from excellent to mediocre, but it was always enjoyable. Now, they consistently serve delicious dishes, and the staff is both friendly and professional. The prices are reasonable, and the portions are generous. If you haven't dined here yet, I highly recommend giving it a try. I believe you'll be pleasantly surprised by the quality of the meals and the variety of menu options. We truly enjoy their food and hope they continue to thrive for many years to come.

Since the pandemic, I had been searching for a Mexican restaurant outside of Bexar County, specifically in Medina/Bandera. I was pleasantly surprised to discover La Cabana Mexican Cafe. The food is delicious, and the staff is extremely friendly. I've returned many times and have recommended it to others as well. Keep up the great work, La Cabana!

HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT!!!!! We walked in with another group of six, and there was a sign that said "Seat Yourself." The other group invited us to sit at a table for four since there was no table for six available. Then the owner/manager came over and rudely told us to move to a different table because there was a party of six ahead of us. WHAT?!? We came in together! I even held the door for most of their party. We felt embarrassed and humiliated by her aggressive tone, but we moved to another table, which didn't make sense since there still wasn't a table that could accommodate six! Since she is the owner/manager, there was no one else to address her rude and unprofessional behavior. Unfortunately, Lakehills is a small community with no other options for Mexican food. Honestly, this restaurant wouldn't last long in a competitive environment with such poor customer service. Plus, she charged me $1.99 for tea, which should have been included with the lunch special! Be cautious of your bill if she's at the register! Next time I crave mediocre Mexican food, I'll happily drive the 25 minutes to San Antonio. Consider yourself warned!
