Bidra med feedbackI went here with some friends and we had a very difficult time to get our waiter to offer substitutions. The menu offered artichokes, Brussels sprouts and summer green. I think we needed substitutions in all courts and the waiter seemed annoying to help us. I would not recommend this place for vegans, but it is ok for a vegetarian, although options are very limited.
Call forward to make sure they have the Buddah Bowl available when we left last time, they didn't. They did something to us, but it was sub par and it happened only after I had asked them to do another version of the bowl. The bowl is also very oily. Your salads are not necessarily vegan as is, so you need to ask your server how it works. Not sure why this place is here, honestly.
Red Door is the perfect date night restaurant for anyone who eats A) vegan or B) is dating someone who is not a vegan. My husband (not veg) and I were both able to get a 3-course menu consisting of an appetizer, salad and I didn't even have to ask for replacement. He got what he wanted, and I ate a 3 course vegan meal. I love this joint.
Today my 4-year anniversary and my husband and I decided to give Red Door in Lakeland an attempt to dinner as I had heard it was good years ago and the menu was interesting. I was excited to see the eclectic menu, but ended in my meal disappointed. We ordered the bread and the butter app, it was just okay. The bread was 5 seconds away from being charred, and the infused butter was not amusing, but did the job as we were hungry. We tried the El Lucha door Tequila cocktail Don Nacho Tequila, pineapple/habanero shrub, homemade cherry/cinn syrup, lime juice, but unfortunately it just tasted like watered tequila with no other flavors available. I remembered Tequila and water. $13 Onto the dinner, my husband ordered the Pan Seared Scallops $36 carburized maize succotash, carrot pure, chicharrones . His meal was amazing. The scallops were delicate meerrot and plump, the charred corn-sukkolade was extremely tasteful and the carrot puree was smooth. Although very tasty, the portions were somewhat smaller than expected, but overall this dish was very enjoyed. On my meal I ordered the Crispy Pork Belly serrano relish, shrunk picked veg, corn pure, micro radish . The presentation was nice, but the whole court was not. When I tried to cut my first bite, I literally struggled with the pig bell, as if it were jerking, I basically saw it, but too little avail. At first chewing, the pig bell was hard and the fried part was so overly fried that it was dusting in the mouth and had an overwhelming salt taste. Imagine a petrol station roasted chicken sitting under a heat lamp and then refried The Serrano-Relish was very minimal on the "pickled veg ', which really only saw dry Coleslaw . It had no picky taste or texture, so it did not add any real taste. On my second bite I was literally chewing and couldn't get the mouthful down, I was chewing and chewing until I gave up and it stayed in my cheek for the next 10 minutes waiting on our server. Yall, I asked a paper nap so I could spit it out. Do you know how bad something must be to be dressed on your anniversary and then spit your dinner into a paper napkin?! I politely let the waitress know that I didn't like the court and she was very nice and accommodating and immediately removed the court and said she would talk to her manager and asked if id wanted to order something else, I politely rejected how my husband had already finished his meal. After another 10 minutes the waitress came out and said the manager would remove the item from the bill and had the waitress offer us a free dessert that we appreciate, but politely rejected as we had plans to get Dessert elsewhere in another place. The manager did not try to get to the table, which has harassed me a bit, as with Applebees with $10 participants, a manager will come to the table to address everyone
Party of 6 went to about 11:45 restaurant was empty. The courts are not worth the money. The chicken was burned to a gun and all that was fried. I'm sure oil needs to be changed. Seems like rolls are old as possible, super stale. Overall a terrible experience.
