Plaza Grill - Lakeside

On the casino floor, there's a buffet area with a ticket price of $44.95 per person. In addition to the buffet, there are three restaurants: an Italian steakhouse and the Plaza Grill. After reviewing the menus, we settled on the Italian steakhouse, which opens at 5:00 PM. The Plaza Grill, however, opens at 4:00 PM, making our decision easier. Upon entering the Plaza Grill and choosing a table, a waiter promptly arrived with menus and offered us drinks. After we placed our drink orders, he informed us that he would return with our chips. Chips? These aren’t a choice but part of the dining experience at the grill. Our drinks and the unexpected chips arrived within about five minutes. The chips, served in a basket, were freshly made crinkle-cut potato chips accompanied by a small bowl of onion dip. They were a delightful surprise in both flavor and presentation. We waited no more than ten minutes for our orders to arrive: a Lobster Roll and a Sliced Roasted Turkey Sandwich. The Lobster Roll came with French fries, coleslaw, and a large dill pickle slice, filling an oversized plate. The dish looked just like the picture on the menu, making my anticipation for its taste even greater. The Sliced Roasted Turkey Sandwich came with bacon-laced potato salad. The turkey sandwich, served on wheat bread, was incredibly generous in size—filling a 10-inch inner plate. I’ve rarely seen such a large sandwich, and the portion was definitely enough for three additional meals (see attached picture). The lobster roll can be prepared in two ways. We ordered it cold this time, but you can also request the lobster meat heated in warm butter. My partner noted that while the sandwich was good, it contained too much mayonnaise, which masked the taste of the lobster. If you choose the lobster roll, be sure to ask the waiter to go easy on the mayo. Will we go back? Absolutely. The drive is about 40 miles each way for us, but it's worth it. Our waiter, Caesar, was attentive, quick, and answered our questions with sufficient detail about the food, matching his descriptions perfectly. He was also patient and pleasant during our conversation. If Caesar is representative of the service from the rest of the staff, and if this restaurant were closer, we would definitely visit frequently.

Hello, I went to eat at the plaza, which is just 5 minutes from Viejas Casino. We decided to go there because they have always treated us very well, but we are considering not returning unless we are served by someone else.

The staff is very friendly, and the food is fantastic! It's always a great experience!
