I ate a typical Amazonian platter which was decent… you can definitely find better around if you know the place. But what I didn't like is the attention. The restaurant was full and all that was left was a table for 6 and we were 2. They gave us this table but as we were eating, they place 3 other people at our table like they are family. I also didn't like how the owner micro-managed everything. The huge portrait of herself on one of the restaurant's wall says a lot.
In this city, where restaurant service is completly different of the rules we used to see around the world, I found this restaurant that made me come again 3 times during my staying. Excellent food, good prices, all fresh and prepared at the time you order and on the top of that, the great service. I was served by Christian and Beto, they were so professional that made me return even if I was discovering local restaurants in a short staying. I recommend it big time!
This place is not where the Tripadvisor map places it. It is half a block closer to the main Plaza and on the other side of the road. It is opposite Estar Cajue. The food whilst not cheap is of good quality and represents fair value for money.Well worth visiting.
It was my first atempt to find a good place to eat in Tarapoto but I lost. I think there's no relation between price and service, I think it's too expensive for the food I received. My friend and I noticed a problem in the kitchen (by the smell of gas) and after several minutes we were waiting, finally someone informed us that our food was delayed for this inconvinient. they didn't offer anything (e.g. a juice or just chips) despite the heat and the long wait.
