Bidra med feedbackWe had a reservation for six, and making the reservation over the phone was very straightforward. The restaurant also sent us a couple of text reminders, which was quite helpful, especially since it's been a while since our last visit.
Alright, let me share my experience. I approached the door, pulled it, but it required a push instead. Once I stepped inside, my hand instinctively removed my cap, and the barstool seemed to be watching me. I took...
Let’s discuss this restaurant. It received a three-star rating, so I decided to give it a shot. Unfortunately, it didn’t meet the three-star standard. If I could rate it two and a half stars, I definitely would.
Fantastic traditional Italian in Lancaster. A new business trip led me through Lancaster, PA. Lancaster is not exactly known as an Italian food destination, but the mood for Pasta has beaten so I decided to look for a local non-chain operation. I was happy to find Lombardos on my Google Maps application. This restaurant was just what I was looking for, almost a Billy Joel moment if you want it. I came alone during the beginning of her Saturday dinner rush, but was happy enough to sit immediately. I have penetrated the complete and varied menu of pasta, seafood and meat dishes, but I had settled on pasta in my head before I went through the door. My meal started with her house red wine, which was quite good. It was a medium-sized mixture of two or three wines, although I regret that I do not remember the exact combination. Next was the fresh baked Italian bread and salad. The salad was not much, but contained fresh green, tomatoes and real Italian pepperoni (this stuff was not hormel, I can assure you). Be warned that there are olives plentiful on the salad, so if you are not a green olive eater, you can want to look before a bite. When I go to an Italian restaurant for the first time, I want to set up a basic quality expectation, so I tend to order either ravioli, gnocci or Alfredo of any kind. On this trip I was on the Gnocci. You can often say by the texture alone whether or not pasta is made fresh. In this case, it was clear. Lombardo's topped the freshly made pasta with a sturdy traditional tomato sauce that gives the perfect balance of garlic, basil, oregano and just enough red pepper to give a small kick without exaggerating the other flavors. This court took me back when my full-blooded Italian grandmother made her a child. In addition, the meatballs were tender with a slightly firm bite. They were lightly spicy with a full taste and good clean texture that cried homemade. The dish may not be complex, tasteful, but the brand of an Italian restaurant is its pasta, and Lombardo's definitely a home trip with this. I had to go to the street, but when the Cannoli on the Dessert tablet made her way past me, I was forced to stick around. The bowls on these delicious gems were tasty and crispy with a rich but not too sweet ricotta cheese filling. The only good thing to live four hours from Lombardo's is that I'm on almost as much weight as I would if I lived closer. I can promise that I will visit Lombardo again at my next visit to Amish Land.
Great family place. Went with my future in-laws. Good family atmosphere and great food. The meatballs were very good. The sauce was flavorful and complimented the dish very well. I will be coming back when I come to visit.
