Crafty Scholar - Lancaster

Where do I even start with my review of this wonderful establishment? I've been a regular at the Crafty Scholar for the past three years, aside from a summer break. Many of my cherished memories were created here, from Jerry selling me lollipops to Mike mixing up some fantastic drinks. The bar service, thanks to the fantastic staff, truly makes every visit unforgettable. I genuinely love coming here; it’s undoubtedly the best pub in Lancaster. I always look forward to being served by Mike, who does so with professionalism and a friendly smile. Kudos to the Crafty Scholar – enjoy a Dark Fruits on me!

This is a spacious restaurant with a convenient QR code ordering system, although it's best used alongside the physical menu. The prices are reasonable for classic pub-style food, and the full English breakfast is a great deal. It's located right next to the Vue Cinema, making it perfect for a meal before or after a movie. The staff is very friendly, adding to the overall experience.

I visited on Saturday and found it quite busy and noisy on the ground floor. We opted to sit upstairs, where the atmosphere was more pleasant. Our food arrived in under thirty minutes and was delicious. I would definitely consider returning. The decor was also lovely.

I ordered our drinks through the app. After 15 minutes of waiting I approached the bar to be told by a very rude barman that the printer wasn't working. I offered proof of the order on my phone but was rudely dismissed by him saying he couldn't read it. Perhaps a little more manners would be nice. Some staff training most definitely.

I love the atmosphere at this place. The service is wonderful. Our server Rachel is always happy and smiling. It's a pleasure visiting this place.
