Bidra med feedbackWe visited this restaurant every day during our recent holiday, and their vin chaud is excellent, not too sweet and at 3.5 euro not too expensive either. I was disappointed to find no omelettes on the menu (my favourite ski lunch) and didn't fancy the specials on any day. On our last day we ordered home-made vegetable soup which came with cheese and bread. As soon as it was put in front of me all I could smell was burning, and the soup was quite brown. I should have complained but they speak very little (no) English and my french wasn't up to the task so I tried to disguise the soup by crumbling my (stale) bread into the soup and cutting my cheese up and stirring that into it. Alas this just made everything taste of burned soup, so we both gave up and went down to the village. They did cook great chips it has to be said, and one portion would be more than enough to share, on the first day we also ordered a salad but the dressing was so mustardy it wasn't edible either, so I can only conclude that the chef either can't cook or doesn't care. Sad because it's a great pit stop but when we go back in March we'll stick to chips only! On a particularly cold day I asked for a cognac to go with my hot chocolate and they didn't have any, so I've said further down in the questions that it doesn't have a full bar.
When you need a beer, or a hot chocolate, or chips, or all of these and more, this is a great stop for a mid ski break to rest the legs on the decking. On the pricier side, but everything is brought up the mountain by skidoo! So to be expected.
Very popular place for lunch which means you may need to reserve a table to be sure. The staff work hard to make sure everyone gets fed in reasonable time. It says something that we ate here more than anywhere else.
