Kuya J - Laoag

The dining experience was unexpectedly good, much better than other restaurants and with reasonable prices. It was definitely an improvement from the last time I visited in October 2018.

The restaurant is good, but there is room for improvement. I based my review on the Crispy Para dish, as well as other items on the menu, the speed of service, and how my family of 3 was treated.

3 stars for the wait to get a table. I noticed there were a lot of customers dressed in costumes as well. It seems like they prioritize larger groups.

The place is comfortable but the food left me and my wife wanting. We ordered Kare-Kare. The rice was dry and hard. We didn't complain but we heard people asked for better rice. The Kare-Kare itself was okay, nothing outstanding, the dessert was good. The stars were for the ambiance and the dessert.

Sinigang and roast chicken was too sour and one of the waiters did not include the food that we requested. All kuya j's were great but this one is just awful.
