Bidra med feedbackThe carne asada burrito was awesome it didn't have your typical skirt steak or whatever most places use this was real quality steak and it tasted as such I didn't have them put the cilantro and onions on the inside but I had them add there queso insideof it and it was freaking awesome! our waiter Joseph was off the hook very attentive very friendly very knowledgeable about themenu took care of all my petty requests such as lime in my tea and the queso inside my burrito instead of being smothered hemade the whole eating experience much much better!
I've been frequenting Chilitos for years, and it has generally been a solid choice. However, last night was a major disappointment. The chips were stale and hard, although the salsa was tasty. We requested a replacement batch, which was slightly better, but we finished them before our drink order was even taken. Speaking of drinks, it took 15 minutes to get our order after that. The food took longer than usual to arrive, despite the fact that there were more empty tables than occupied ones. The food itself was pretty good as usual, and I tried their sopapillas, which were excellent. Perhaps it was just an off night, but I think we won't be returning for a while. Our server seemed to vanish for extended periods, and we eventually had to ask another server to find her so we could get our bill.
I was looking forward to enjoying some authentic Mexican food during my visit to Las Cruces, but unfortunately, it turned out to be a disappointing experience. The three tortillas I received were very small, and if you want more, there's an additional charge—something I wasn't expecting. The chicken and beef were overcooked, and I had trouble removing them from the sizzling platter since no plate was provided, which only added to my frustration. The side of guacamole was tasty, but it didn't come with chips, and I found out that there was a charge for them if you wanted some. The service was quite slow, and we ended up waiting a long time for our check after our waitress cleared the empty dishes. Overall, it was a bad experience, and I won’t be returning.
This restaurant is a must-visit every time we're in town. The flavors are fantastic, and we left completely satisfied! We started with their chips and salsa, and also ordered some guacamole. The salsa is incredibly flavorful—it’s truly addictive. The guacamole was smooth and delicious, accompanied by some crunchy lettuce pieces and fresh white onion strings for added texture. My son and I enjoyed the sopapilla compuesta (Christmas style), which is a massive meal! The meat is tender and practically melts in your mouth. My wife opted for the green enchiladas (stacked) and added sour cream because she found the green sauce a bit spicy, but it was still delicious, and she loved it. My in-laws chose the red enchiladas (stacked) topped with an egg, and they say these are their favorite in the valley. And of course, you must end your meal with a serving of sopapillas, either with cinnamon sugar or plain. They are absolutely delightful!
