Bidra med feedbackRecently I visited this place, had not been there in 10 years. The tables were dirty, the back entrance glass door was cracked, a high chair was covered with dried beans and rice. The two employees I interacted with were full of attitude, but they were very nice to the caucasian customers who came. Ordnete the chicken frogs that hardly had meat, mostly hard corn tortilla. The filled sopapilla was good until I arrived in the middle and the ground meat was pink. I will never return to this sad place. It is as disappointing to see how this place has fallen from the local glory. I'd rather go to the Tacoglocke!
Roberto's has the best Tostadas Compuestas in New Mexico. It's always clean, and our Michigan friends take home dozens of their flour tortillas when they visit.
Growing up in Cruces, my husband and his family swore by Roberto 's, I agree, Recently our daughter ' 's boyfriend drove thru, (we live in Reno now) Cruces, we asked him to stop and get us 4 dozen enchiladas....needless to say, after he tried them....we only got 8; and we were lucky.
The tacos used to be great. They raised the price, no big deal. The tacos got smaller. I will never eat there again.
Roberto's is simple, no frills, home style Mexican food. With their own tortilla factory next door, I recommend anything burrito, especially green or red chile and potato. Yup, just chile and potato in a flour tortilla, simple but delicious. They aren't fancy, but their food is tasty and cheap. Try their stuffed sopapillas, the hamburger ones are great when I'm not in the mood for spicy food. Their flour tortillas are these huge pillows of softness so I would definitely recommend a burrito of some kind and their green chile meat burrito is fiery hot and yummy!
