Bidra med feedbackGreat little spot! Service was fast and friendly. Food came out quick and was hot. Drink menu has a ton of choices including a full page dedicated to mules! Sweet potato tots are a must. Great stop after a hike at Starved Rock 10 minute drive.
After having a disappointing dinner last night at Uptown Grill, we came to the Social Kitchen in hopes of finding something more. Thankfully, we were very satisfied! We ordered the grilled asparagus, the shrimp stir fry, firecracker shrimp and the Brussels sprouts. It was all very good! The food, along with our delicious mules and fantastic service made for a great experience at the Social Kitchen! It's the best place we have been to in this little town!
In the bizarre, small little town of LaSalle, what seems like a deserted town from the 1950's, I certainly didn't expect to stumble upon this gem of a restaurant! The night before, we had dined at the Uptown Grill, which was a massive disappointment (way overpriced, flavorless, undercooked veggies, dry bread, poorly spiced scallop dish, etc. so we entered Social Kitchen pretty desperate for a decent meal. We were immediately greeted by a friendly hostess and seated quickly in the nearly empty restaurant, which is very narrow and contains about 30 (maybe tables total. Although SK is very small, it doesn't feel cramped or uncomfortable and is nicely decorated in a clean, somewhat industrial style, definitely very modern for such a old fashioned/kitschy town. Our server was very friendly, professional and efficient. She was the only server present, yet our service didn't suffer at all. We were very impressed with her service. By the time our drink orders had been placed, there were about five tables sat and at least four people at the bar, so she was doing a kick a job! All the entrees are served with a side and there's an impressively long and interesting side list! Food definitely sounded better than it actually was, but overall, it was a positive experience.
Came here last night and had a delightful experience. Brooke was our service and she was super accommodating.
Had some high hopes for this place. Vibe was really cool and seemed like the experience was gonna be awesome. The brisket was basically a panini, and was just not impressed. The poke appetizer was probably a bit risky but we wanted to try it anyway...the rice was super odd, like old tangy glue ball. We asked why was it so odd and the taste was off. She apologized but failed to do anything about it, considering we didn't even touch it. That was terrible, considering we spent about $75 for two adults and no kids. When leaving host just glanced and failed to say thank you or thanks for stopping in. Isn't that your role? Oh well, this is a pass.
