Our family's favorite taco place. The horchata is cold and sweet. The tortillas are always spectacularly fresh. Service is fast and the restaurant is clean. It's a small space, so don't take a big party. Our family has six people and it gets a little tight.

My new favorite place to get amazing Mexican food! 10/10 would recommend! I had the best asada quesedilla of my life here. The staff were very friendly and kind!

I want to start by saying that all the negative comments I’ve read here are completely unfounded. This place is incredibly underrated. When you first see it from the outside, you might wonder if you really want to go in, as it doesn’t look particularly fancy. But trust me, the food and service more than make up for it. I've visited a few times with my husband and friends, and we've always left satisfied. The staff is consistently friendly, the prices are affordable, and the service is outstanding. It’s a truly humbling experience, sitting among such genuine people. It reminds me of Mexico and the wonderful spirit of its people. I've seen the owner several times, and he always greets us warmly. If I had to recommend a dish, it would definitely be the tacos—specifically the pastor tacos! They’re the best I’ve ever had, even better than those at Polo’s Taqueria, which is severely overrated and has poor customer service. Seriously, don't dismiss it without trying it. I’ll definitely keep coming back for the tacos!

I usually drive all the way to Buford for good tacos, but I've been exploring different places since '94. El Dey Rey has been my go-to spot, but I decided to give Don Jose a try, and I'm thrilled to say that I've finally found a taco place in Gwinnett that meets my standards. I'm definitely a new loyal fan! I ordered the lengua tacos and tamales (both rojo and verde), and everything was delicious. I must admit, they were so good that I bit my tongue in excitement!

The restaurant is clean, offers excellent customer service, and has great music. You can choose to dine in or order takeout, and there is ample parking available. The staff is fluent in both English and Spanish.
