We happened upon this van by chance, having got completely lost and very hungry in Le Mans trying to find a pizza place. As we drove through the square, feeling very hungry, I spotted the van and got my husband to park asap. We wandered up and were greeted warmly by the couple working behind the counter. I said we'd like galettes please and they double checked politely that I didn't actually want crepes. They were surprised and pleased when I said yes, galettes the ones made with buckwheat flour. The husband told us proudly where the flour came from and asked what fillings we'd like. While the galettes were being made, the teenage daughter set up a little table and chairs for us and brought iced tea. So there we sat, eating delicious galettes as the sun went down, and watching the folks moving through the square and spilling out of the restaurants. If you're in Le Mans give it a try lovely galettes made and served by lovely people in a magnificent setting.
