Bidra med feedbackGreat pub really friendly staff. Here on a weeks getaway and such a great place to chill.
Our conservation group celebrated Christmas and our 30th anniversary with an excellent lunch for 16 of us in n the Half Moon. Marcus and his team were very welcoming and we enjoyed a range of dishes from the menu. The pies, fish and chips and sea bass were all cooked well and nicely presented, while the desserts were very tempting. Everybody commented that they would go back separately.
Two filet steaks with garnish, chips and a lovely sauce of your choice, a bottle of house wine, £40 ! Absolutely brilliant! Great service , good beers, lovely dining room, you just can't fault it. Highly recommended, we will be back soon. Thank you.
Had Sunday lunch here with family warm welcome and efficient service, perfect seating location and exceptional food lamb dinner, turkey dinner, nut roast and no meat alternatives. Delicious desserts! Will definitely come again!
Celebrating a family birthday. Nine adults three children. Sunday afternoon. Running a bit late with food but hey ho that is not a big problem just another drink. Table ready one of the couples has a prior appointment so their order was taken first and put through with the children's order, took no time at all so happy bunnies. The menu was very extensive for a Sunday lunch time so a lot of decisions to be made. Best to browse on line before you go. Starters half of the adults went for garlic mushrooms the other half prawn cocktail. Mains divided between the lamb beef and steak and ale pie. The starters portion was big enough for a main course, I had the prawn cocktail (well it was Sunday) it was absolutely gorgeous with fresh warm bread. The garlic mushrooms also looked ample and they were served also with a chunk of warm bread for dunking. wow. I had the roast lamb for mains served with Yorkshire pudding, fresh veg, roast potatoes ,fantastic gravy and of course the mint sauce. Then it was do we have enough room left for desert. Of course we do bring them on. I shared my vanilla crème Brule with a chocolate brownie just to compare for next time both absolutely gorgeous. The beer was spot on and several were quaffed and the red wine was second to none, but the taxi driver wouldn't let us take the rest of the wine home opened. All in all it was a fantastic afternoon in a splendid pub with very nice people. The landlord and lady were excellent the bar staff knew exactly what we had ordered previously and the chef and service staff were amazing. Can't wait to get back for another family treat.
