Leenane - Leenaun

It was okay. Many tourists and the rooms were...historical? I could hear the people go over me and the bar under me....the food was okay, but the best meal wasn't on their main menu, but their bar menu and that was the lamb.... It would have been nice if the hotel had more history in the area and the hotel itself. The location was centrally located and in a beautiful location, but if I went back, I would choose a cheaper alternative that was not so touristy. The staff was helpful, but as soon as I came back to my room, the cleaning women found a book that was given to me. The room could use some updates. The bed was short and the tub was huge and long. A tiny television near the ceiling.

This place for dinner at my Louisburgh, Co. Mayo. The view in this place is breathtaking. The food was good. Appropriate price and good service. Stop when you get the chance. The hotel itself is very historical. Would you like to stay at the hotel in the future. The ride to this place of Maum was simply stunning.

As with Francis D's review, I am also a big fan of the house made brown bread. Superb. I will be honest from the beginning, I am usually not impressed by mussels here in Ireland. Originally from the southern hemisphere, I am used to the New Zealand variety, which can get over 5 inches in length with enough meat to also fill the hungry seafood fan. The portion size at the Leenane Hotel is just right. Advice goes early to use the bar menu. The Mussels are also on this menu, but a few euros cheaper. €10 for a half kilo share and €16 for the 1kg share. It'll be nice! Ask for some bread to clean some of these excellent juices. FYI, my family had the prosciutto wrapped cod and seafood khowder. Both were also delicious (the chowder can add to taste and texture with a bunch of shells that are thrown in to the variety).
