Bidra med feedbackAttracted by gluten free offerings, we had a late lunch. They carry GF bread and had several items that were pointed out as gluten free. Surprisingly, their eggplant parmigiana was one. Since the eggplant usually is breaded and I never get to have that, I ordered it. It arrived with a piece of toasted French bread, which was immediately exchanged for GF toast. I have to say, the dish was tasty, but it was almost a soup, with copious amount of cheese and sauce with the eggplant slices drowned in it. My companion ordered the dish that was Tasmanian salmon and it was so over cooked and stringy we didn't realize it was chicken! This we discovered when we went to pay, and tried to tell them we had the salmon. It seems obvious one could tell, but we are new in Australia and thought perhaps the salmon was quite different. There was no apology for delivering the wrong thing. We do not recommend Leura Gourmet.
Been here many times never disappoints. Took family visiting from New York for brunch and no one was disappointed. Always love an all day breakfast being offered and the best being delivered. Friendly staff. Views beautiful. Thanks again. Highly recommend.
Have been here a few times and it is usually good. Went recently towards the end of the day on a Sunday and, although it was pretty easy to get a table this time, it wasn't that great. The wait staff were pleasant but the food wasn't great, and they didn't have what I wanted (lamb). Then when I ordered a replacement, they didn't have that either! I wasn't particularly annoyed, and the waiter was very nice about it, but when the food for our table arrived, all of us weren't particularly overjoyed. Not sure if it was just a Sunday later afternoon thing, or whether the place is losing it a little, but will try again next time probably before deciding.....
Very busy cafe, had to wait 5 mins for a table. The view was amazing! We were there for breakfast with 3 kids. They didn't have high chairs and due to lack of space couldn't take the pram to the table (they did provide a space for the pram though). Menu isn't very kid friendly which makes me think their target market is over 16s. Service and food was ok, nothing to rave about though and if you like your coffee hot make sure you tell them as it comes out warm.
Surprised at how popular this cafe is. It's saving grace is the food, but the staff....Having to queue for 15 minutes for a table, we admired two of the dishes waiting to be sent to tables. Keep looking, kept waiting for the plates to go out. Kept waiting for a table - even though we could see 2 empty tables in a corner. Finally was taken to one of the empty tables and saw a table vacate near a window. Asked if we could be moved, and told a flat 'No'. It's policy to place customers in the next available table and not move them, even though we had not even been given water glasses. Food arrived, and before I had finished my meal, two of the four plates were whisked off the table and were asked if we wanted coffee. This was before I'd finished my meal. After coffees were finished, went to pay and was told rudely that Amex was not accepted. When asked to speak to the manager, the surly cashier informed us that she wasn't there and turned her back as though that was the end of conversation. More senior waitress came out and when complaint was made about the rudeness and lack of customer service, there was no acknowledgment of why we might be annoyed - merely that it was policy not to move clients and that was that. Had brought 2 interstate friends to the Blue Mountains for the weekend and was underwhelmed by whole bad attitude. Leura thrives on its tourism. It can't afford to have people steer away because of a poor experience. Leura Gourmet Deli and Cafe is off the ticket for any future trips for me!!
