The Cuckmere Inn - Lewes

My visit to the restaurant was quite disappointing. I was there to celebrate my birthday, but all my efforts to make it special were in vain. When I asked for a special dessert with a "happy birthday" message upon arrival, it was met with little enthusiasm. The service was slow, and waiting 45 minutes just to receive our desserts meant we had to leave without completing the meal, which really dampened the overall experience.

Food was lovely, service was good, fires kept me warm and was a very nice atmosphere. I was served by Harry and Toby both was lovely

I visited this pub on a Monday evening a couple of weeks ago and have just had a parking fine through the post!! I would have thought the pub car park would have been free for visiting patrons and saw no signs outlining otherwise or staff members asking for vehicle reg numbers or anything!! I think this is totally outrageous!! Scamming customers who visit in good faith!!

I went out for lunch with my relatively large family of 7 in which we enjoyed our food and good service which is why we spent over £200 and yet two weeks later we get two fines for our cars through the door telling us to pay £200 in parking fines (in the pubs designated car park) which any one with half a brain would assume was free for the establishment and yet euro car parks told us we were not allowed to park there. I assume when you want to enjoy a meal you must park your car in the river for free parking. Not one mention form the many members of staff we saw at the front desk and nothing was said over the phone so as far as I am concerned do not go here as you will be scammed out of £200 after your appeal is denied
