Bidra med feedbackJust one point to mention is in relation to the monkey fingers where the sauce was a little acidic. Having enjoyed monkey fingers in the past I got the impression the recipe for the sauce has changed and I don’t believe it is better than before.
We live locally, and we have been to The Dartmouth Arms for food a few times before. I also nip in for a pint every now and again. However, it is clear to me that things have gone downhill. Certainly customer service wise. The person who mainly served us last night was fairly unfriendly and cold. There was no sense from her that she valued us as customers. Food-wise, the burger was pretty greasy. There was a lack of care in how my burger, and that of my family was put together (e.g. my daughters was largely smeared in a cheesy mess that she didn't like). It's a shame. I used to really like the Dartmouth Arms, and go in there frequently. But no more.
We went for lunch and left happily stuffed, the burgers, chilli dogs and fries were all delicious and the portions are large, staff are friendly and efficient. The Dartmouth is a local treasure in Forest Hill
Ruined a lovely little local, now just a smelly over priced burger bar. Such a shame, décor is horrible as are the over priced beers. Won’t be going back, though was my local for 20yrs. Of course things change but they should be for the better!
This place is going all out for profit and not in a good way. Nothing wrong with the food or drinks. I was not impressed at the compulsory 12% service charge for 2 people dining on a Friday night. burgers! This is not a five star restaurant), even then compulsory service charge, should be for parties of 8 or more. This is simply not a transparent or honest business practice.
