Very Nice - Lewisham

My family and I had planned to celebrate a special occasion during Chinese New Year at this restaurant. However, we were disappointed with the service. The food we ordered did not arrive within the 30-40 minute time frame we were told when making our reservation at 6:30pm (after waiting on hold for 5 minutes). Just Eat also provided incorrect delivery time estimates, delaying our order by over 20-40 minutes. There were no notifications or updates about the delays, and when I called at 8pm to inquire about my order being over an hour late, I was informed that it was not even ready to be sent out for delivery yet. I decided to cancel my order and ordered from a different restaurant, which actually arrived 20 minutes ahead of schedule and was also cheaper by £10. Despite the enticing food options and positive reviews, the poor customer service we experienced during this visit has made us hesitant to return for takeout in the future. We may consider giving this restaurant another chance when they are less busy, but for now, we will not risk ordering from them again.

The restaurant is consistently great. I have been a customer for the past seven years and the food is always amazing. We are fortunate to have such a fantastic takeaway option in Catford.

Unbelievably disgusting food. Ordered on 10/06/20. Over salted like mad to mask up the flavour of rotten ingredients. Chicken in black bean came as a mush, veg had been obliterated by over boiling, or more likely to have just been kept warm for days just waiting to sell. Crispy duck also mushy and fatty with very little to desire. Ate 20% of my order and binned the rest. The next day I'm furiously vomitting, admitted to hospital on 12/06/20 as the stomach cramps and vomitting were getting worse and unbearable. Despite the country being in a medical emergency for COVID, the doctors found me to be critical enough to be admitted to a critical care ward. Fast forward to now 17/06/20 I'm back at home and going through the final detox phases to return to normality. To the owner of VERY NICE Chinese. I've never met you, I've never been to your shop but believe me you've made yourself a diehard enemy. I will be paying you a visit when I'm fully recovered.

Takeaway or Delivery My chinese fave when in the area!! Serving the community for so many years. Food always tastes fresh and well prepared. Staff are so friendly and helpful. If you call and it’s a busy line, call back... they have two lines operating and use the usual online delivery apps. Offers Deals available spending over certain amounts
