Bentleys - Lincoln

While staying in Lincoln, I was in the mood for fish and chips and found this place to be the closest option. I was pleased with my choice as any restaurant that fries in beef dripping gets a big thumbs up from me. I was not disappointed - the batter was crispy and the chips were cooked just the way I like them. The jumbo haddock was freshly cooked and cooked perfectly. I would definitely visit this restaurant again when in Lincoln.

I am aware that the restaurant has new ownership and they use beef dripping, but I found the food to be overly greasy and expensive. I have dined there twice and do not plan on returning.

The staff at this restaurant were very pleasant and helpful. I really enjoyed the top-class fish, and you also get plenty of chips.

Relatively new to the area, this is only the second chip shop I’ve been to, but have to say it was very good. Other places I’ve looked up don’t seem to do large cod and the previous place I visited’s cod was borderline anorexic. The ‘jumbo cod’ I had was a very good size and really nice. Chips were very good and the curry sauce had really good flavour. My partner had the scampi, which looked good too and apparently tasted nice. We will definitely be back, suitably impressed

Went last Friday and discovered it was under new management What a difference, now cooked in beef dripping and both the fish (very crispy batter) and the chips were excellent, as good as I have tasted Highly recommended
