Venue Lounge - Lincoln

Great bartender and waitress. Receptionist who is young had a one-at-time focus and needs to make eye contact with others standing there. She did come and get us in the bar which was nice.

The Venue was perfect for lunch and the good was excellent. As most restaurants these days it was hard to hear the other ladies who were soft spoken since the restaurant was full and there were a lot of conversations going on. However we had a nice visit.

First, our wait staff was outstanding and she did everything she could to make sure the our meal was enjoyable. The kitchen was really off tonight! The appetizer was late to the table and came after the salads arrived. Both the appetizer and salads were good, just out of order... regarding the entrees, the 3 scallops were really 2 1/2 as for some strange reason one was only 1/2 they were cooked, but certainly lacked color on the sear; the beef tenderloin was ordered medium rare and was served medium to medium well, the asparagus was overcooked to the extent it was limp and soggy; again wait staff was attentive and offered a new steak etc. and took 1/2 off the entree and provided a take away dessert. But for a celebratory dinner, it was lacking in execution. Again it just felt like an off night for the kitchen as generally we have always been pleased with the food at Venue. In spite of this mediocre review, our server Maddie was excellent and did everything possible to make our dining experience better and we appreciated her sincere efforts; she is not responsible for what comes out of the kitchen.

Our server, Regan was excellent! Very bubbly and attentive. We had the surf and turf, which was excellent. We sat near the kitchen, so it was a little noisy. We had a very enjoyable experience!

Ordered Chicken Picatta on a Monday evening . Pasta was dry, no sauce. Chicken was over-cooked and dry. Try JTK in the Haymarket for a quiet, refined diining experience and great chicken piccata.
