Caribana - Lindenhurst

Went there for the first time last night. It was the best meal I had in a long time. I had the seared salmon and chose sides of mixed veggies and plantains. The veggies were zucchinis and red peppers and carrots. Finished it off with rum cake with rum sauce. Everything was awesome. The service was excellent and very friendly. Will definitely be going back.

I drive from the south side of Chicago (50+ miles) to get the island bird burger. It's a hit.

I always enjoy my meals here. My favorite dish is the shrimp and grits, which taste even better the next day. The jerk chicken, fritters, empanadas, and salads are all wonderful as well. I haven't visited since the pandemic, but it used to be a charming and cozy place for a date night. I'm so glad to have this hidden gem in Lindenhurst!

Where do I begin? The customer service was outstanding. Brett was a really cool and down-to-earth guy. He was genuinely interested in our opinions and feedback, which made us feel very comfortable. Now, on to the food. I ordered the oxtails, while my friend had the chicken and shrimp étouffée. I like to rate my meals, so here’s my take on Caribana: the oxtails were incredibly tender, and the gravy was a perfect 10. The chicken and shrimp étouffée also earned a 10; it was bursting with flavor, and since I’d never tried it before, I can't wait to come back and explore the rest of the menu. Overall, I rate this experience a solid 10!

Delicious food! The customer service was excellent, and I absolutely love this place. The coconut shrimp was incredible, and I also enjoyed the shrimp curry—it was fantastic. I will definitely be returning for more!
