Bidra med feedbackAll their bread and sponges are delicious! My family and I really enjoy the 3 Leches cake.
We just tried to find a place for something for breakfast and found this place. I loved any thing with custard filling or cream cheese. I tried the sugar donut with custard filling and it was so good. I was in heaven. Too bad I only got one. I also bought other pastry and they are yummy. If we visit Naperville, we will definitely go back to this place.
I ordered a large Tres Leches cake for my Mother’s 90th Birthday celebration. Excellent cake. Absolutely no leftovers, which is usually not the case with cakes at my home. I had overnight guest asking for more the next day. Success. Hope the Red Velvet that I have ordered for another birthday bash is equally good.
After watching a Netflix show on Mexican treats, I had an itch for Mexican baked goodies. I remembered El Dorado since I used to live nearby, although I had never tried it. Since I have some dietary restrictions, I called ahead to ask if they used lard or animal fat. The gentleman explained that they use vegetable oil and margarine. I decided to pop in and check it out. The gentleman was very friendly and further explained the ingredients to me. It's very small inside and no seating, so it's take go. Aside from baked treats, they do also have drip coffee. The way it works is, you grab a tray and tongs and pick out what you like, then they box it up. I went with a chocolate concha and a rice pudding donut. Both items were delicious! The concha sweet bread was light and fluffy, which was a welcome surprise, as I expected it to be dense. It was only $1.09. The rice pudding donut also had an interesting texture (i.e. crisp exterior) and tasted great. It cost $2.05. Not a huge selection, but if you're looking for a sweet tooth fix and want to try out something different, give El Dorado a shot.
The concha bread was good white bread dinner roll bread but did not make a great concha. Birote was OK, filling was good. Just an OK place.
