Bidra med feedbackThe very unpleasant waiter grudgingly seated our family of 4, and while we were looking at the menu, he declared, " No pizza". It was around 14h, so we thought the oven was turned off or no dough prepared and ordered something else. Soon after, we witnessed several other customers arrive in various groups, and they were all served pizza. Our meal was good, but the service left a bitter feeling. I took years of French in school but never got comfortable speaking it. Fortunately, I was able to read the menu and make other choices. I have always heard the French were unfriendly to Americans, but this man was the only one to treat us as though we were an intolerable annoyance. As noted by the other reviewers, though he treated us terribly and all but refused to serve us, he was more than happy to take our money. There are many wonderful people in France, so unless you are fluent in the language, I suggest you go anywhere else and save yourself the aggravation.
Set in the beautiful arched square of Lisle sur Tarn this restaurant serves typical Basque food from the chef Christophe's home country . His wife Sandrine runs the business and service with her very pleasant staff . Inside or outside you will receive a very warm welcome . We ate a delicious salad at lunchtime and that evening they had musicians playing and we are sure that all who came had a good time .
We went here as a family of 4. We sat down with our children as we all wanted a pizza and they had a board advertising pizzas. We ordered a drink from the rude waitress. A local with his dog chatted to us but everyone else was decidedly frosty. When we came to ordering, the rude waitress told us the pizzas were not available, so with two very hungry children we chose a burger and just chips for the other. For the adults the special of mussels. The burger arrived, it was burnt and no bun, the chips were also burnt and when we asked for ketchup she snapped that there wasn't any, but I could see it behind the bar in sachets so she was lying. Our mussels were totally overlooked and dry, dry, dry! Basically we were not welcome but they chose to take our money for diabolical food and the most unfriendly service they could muster, and our crime? I suspect it was our nationality.
We had lunch here as the restaurant we intended going to was closed for holidays. The food was tasty and well presented. My one complaint would be that the waitress was a bit brusque when taking our orders.
If you like to book a table for 12 at a pizzeria and then arrive to be told that they can only cook 2 pizzas at a time because they need to keep one oven available for take-out orders, then this is the place for you.If you like it when they forget one pizza and then refuse to make it because the chef can't be bothered, this is your dream restaurant.Oh, and don't forget the charging for the salad that never arrived or the failure to ask if we wanted any more drinks. No discount was offered for the appalling service ... but they did offer a complimentary round of nasty looking apple liquer (which was unanimously refused). And when my Mum gave them 170 Euros and said that was all we were paying for the 195 Euros bill because of the awful food and service, they accepted it meekly because they had no argument. If I could award no 'green circles' I would! Amongst the worst ever food experiences of my life!
