I mean, living in the eastern bay, and an ex-crease, his Mel is every day. My balls Benedict tasted great. My ash-browns were beautiful and crispy, but they hardly gave me anything. Left hungry. The food is good, but the portions are meager. Next time I order 2 breakfast, no joke.
My chocolate malt was excellent and went well with the Monte Cristo Sandwich. For some reason it was made with American cheese and pineapple, but I like the fried style. Cole slaw was fine, but the Mel's potatoes were excellent, and there are some striking menu options like a San Francisco Scramble that you don't see anymore. Fast, friendly and accurate service, reasonable prices and perhaps especially for a breakfast place, reasonable waiting. The decor is funny Kitsch, with great photos. This restaurant works as if it's been going for years, not days, which is incredibly impressive, as it still mixes bags of concrete. They don't have any alcohol license yet, but there'll be beer on tap if they do.
I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant! The food and service were excellent. I appreciate the menu's simplicity, which focuses on the classics without unnecessary gimmicks. The atmosphere is wonderful, with options for both large and small tables. The spacious layout means I never felt cramped, unlike some other places. I ordered the fried chicken, and my wife enjoyed the breakfast burrito. Overall, it was a great meal!
Great service! Traveling with two small children can be challenging, but the pancake breakfast was delightful. The server had the clever idea to share a strawberry shake with the kids, which they thoroughly enjoyed, without needing to ask for an extra cup. The BLT with avocado was also delicious. The server was attentive and made sure my drink refills were promptly taken care of.
