They are delicately crafted and visually appealing, making them a must-try. They come in two flavors: original and black sesame. Both are absolutely delicious! The highlight is the cream, which is light and fluffy, while the outer layer of the puff is perfectly crispy.
The winner really depends on your personal taste. The cream puffs currently popular at Beard are celebrated for their freshness and variety of fillings. However, you have other options to satisfy your cream puff cravings. Like Beard, Chantilly also makes their puffs fresh as soon as you place an order, but that’s where the similarities end. At Chantilly, the puff maker expertly crafts a light cream nestled inside crisp, fluffy puffs, while Beard opts for a method where cold, dense cream is mechanically injected into a soft, elastic puff. This results in two distinct textures: Chantilly's puffs are more akin to whipped cream, while Beard's have a custard-like consistency. In terms of presentation, Chantilly outshines Beard. Each Chantilly puff is carefully placed on a charming tray as it’s transferred from the kitchen to the service area, weighed to ensure you receive ample cream for your money, and beautifully packaged in a lovely box for easy transport.
