Bidra med feedbackI've eaten at Punjab House quite a few times as I work nearby and I find it a good place to drop in for a quality Indian at lunchtime without breaking the bank too much. I find the manager charming, smiley and always helpful. Most of the clientele I see eating there are Asians from the local community, which I regard as a good sign. Both my brother and I enjoyed the Chicken Tikka Roll in Nan Bread with salad which we thought was a bargan at about £3.00. My favorite dish though is the Vegetable Vindaloo which they cook for me from the daily selection of vegetable dishes along with some chilies and other hot spices. I like hot food and after a few visits when they got to know me...read more
Today, my friend and I had an amazing meal at this restaurant. It was our first time here, but we will definitely be returning. The chicken and lamb curries were outstanding, as were the starters and service. The price was also very reasonable.
I must admit that I hesitated to use words like "cheap" in my review, as they often imply that the quality of the food and service at Punjab House is not up to par. However, after dining here multiple times, I can confidently say that this restaurant is truly outstanding. As someone who eats curry regularly all over the UK, I can say that Punjab House would easily become my go-to spot if it were located in my hometown. Despite its simple decor and somewhat stark atmosphere, the food here is top-notch. The family who runs the restaurant is delightful, and the prices are much more reasonable than other establishments. If you're more interested in fancy lighting and expensive drinks, this may not be the place for you. But if you're all about delicious food, then Punjab House is definitely worth a visit.
This little gem is located in Balham, South London. I visited with a large group of friends for a very special event. Shazia the manager is a delightful, smiley, welcoming host and an outstanding chef! Everything is homemade and is really fresh and flavourful as a result! I especially enjoyed the crispy fresh Poppadoms with mango sauce and lamb kebabs (which had a delicious kick to them!! . My mouth is already watering reminiscing about the traditional lamb curry, chicken jalfrezi and saag paneer!! A definite try is their dessert Gulab Jaman aka 'Grandma 's Recipe ' the texture and flavour is to die for!! I would rate Punjab House 5 Star all round The food was absolutely wonderful, from preparation (which you can watch , presentation, to great value for price, very pleasing indeed! Atmosphere was very comfortable and I did not feel rushed at all!! Already booked to return with different circle of friends!! I simply can 't wait!!
Was lucky enough to stumble across this gem of a restaurant after a friend casually recommended it to me. And she was not wrong! We had a beautiful evening. The service was impeccable such a kind and attentive waitress. The traditional lamb curry and saag paneer were particularly delicious. And whilst I don’t normally go for sweet things, the gulab jaman, followed by kava, was off. The. Chain. I shall be going back there soon!
