Bidra med feedbackI recently had the pleasure of hosting a corporate dinner party at Grace. We host these parties all across Canada in various cities. Grace really stood out to me. Service was on point, very friendly and attentive wait staff. The team at Grace not only accommodated our requirements for a custom 6 course tasting menu with a select wine pairing to compliment the menu, but surpassed expectation. Each course was bursting with flavour, and the selected wine paired so well with every course! Compliments to their Chef and Sommelier for creating a wonderful experience. And a huge thank you to the Manager and his team for exceptional service!
Not a great time to be honest.Dinner for 2, we both did the fixed course optionForced to sit next to the only other couple in the restaurant (e.g. poor seating by hostess)Portions were super small, artsy and mostly tasty but not filling (overpriced for sure)We waited over an hour between the first and second courses, forced to spend 2+ hours at restaurant to wait for all food to come out (would have been longer if we didnt ask for desert to come out quicker).Had 2 waiters the first one got her clothes in one of our drinks (we claimed it was a fly to be polite), immediately given poor treatment for requesting a new glass and told any more would cost extra. The second one gave our food to the 1 other couple in the restaurant (contributed to the ridiculous wait time). First waitress watched as I selected tip despite poor service, VERY uncomfortable.Given 2 free drinks to say sorry, it was a very nice gesture but the drinks were so so.The desert we ordered was unavailable because the table next to us (yup, same people aforementioned) took the last one since our order was sent to them by mistake and caused the long wait for food (BRUH moment)I hope service improves. For the unbelievable amount of money spent, the wait time and unwillingness to give us proper service is saddening.
Their rotation dinner course is worth it for the price since you can try lots of different things. They definitely experiment with their food and while some of them work, some are not too great. Their service is top tier however. Still a very great experience and worth a try regardless!
Went here for my partner and I's anniversary. They obviously try to do interesting things with the menu, and I can definitely appreciate that. I think the easiest thing to do here is to make a baseball analogy. Grace swings and swings hard. Sometimes, the swings turn out really well, and sometimes they turn out poorly.Zucchini fritters was decent and the sauces it came with were unique, but the fritter itself could have been crispier and better salted. Boston cream salad was crisp and refreshing tasting, but overall didn't leave a big impact.Burrata was excellent, very fresh. The apricot jam was delicious with it. Again, the tortilla chips were underseasoned and lackluster. The crudo was interesting but the whitefish itself didn't have a ton of flavour and the amount of roe was sparse (its saltiness was very needed to balance out how sweet the rest of the dish was). For the mains, both dishes, a whitefish loin and a steak, had questionably sweet components. Why does my main course need sweet mushroom jam, or compressed watermelon? Flavour wise it didn't make sense and didn't go exceptionally well together. Funnily, the smoked potatoes with the steak reminded me of how All Dressed Ruffles taste. For dessert, the lavender crepe was just okay, it reminded me of a worse lemon bar. However, the chocolate cake with miso ice cream was incredible, and oddly perhaps the most deep flavour-wise of anything on the menu. The cake was moist and fudgey, the ice cream both sweet and umami, and the sesame crisp on top gave the whole thing some great texture variety.Highly recommend both the chocolate cake and the burrata. Everything else was just okay to mediocre.Service wise, the servers were nice and attentive but each course took about 30 minutes to come out and so the entire dinner took over 2 hours which imo is way too long.Overall worth it? I'm not sure, it probably depends on the exact menu they have going at the time. There's sparks of genius in here, but the execution perhaps is on the fence. I liked it, but didn't love it.
OMG!!! There are very few words to describe how incredible this restaurant is. We went to celebrate our anniversary, and looked at a Prix Fixe menu. The menu contained items that we probably would have never chosen had there been more choice. So, we read the write-ups very carefully and ordered. We then began to receive our 4 courses each. We purposefully chose different options so we could taste each other's meals. OMG. The flavours, and the tastes that we shared were out of this world. The bad: this amazing restaurant is on Dundas street. A troubled street in London that makes it uncomfortable to walk. There is a lot of hope on this street, but so far: just hope. Would we come back: Absolutely! Next time we will do Sunday Brunch!
